Description

The overall goal of this project is to introduce novel strategies to promote regeneration of all layers (epidermis, dermis and hypodermis) of facial and extremity skin and subcutaneous tissue, and reduce inflammation and scarring after blast and burn injuries in warfighters. This study is made up of 5 distinct projects. The objective of the project that will be conducted at Northwestern is to investigate repurposed medications of amiloride and celecoxib that are already in clinical use systemically, but for the purposes of treatment of scarring applied topically, which is an accelerated pathway to clinical use
