REU Site: Preparing a Diverse Workforce through Interdisciplinary Astrophysics Research

    Project: Research project

    Project Details

    Description

The Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration & Research in Astrophysics is proposing to renew its Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site, which has been running for the past three summers. This program brings undergraduates from the Chicago area and across the country to perform astrophysics research with Northwestern faculty in CIERA. The majority of the funding goes toward student stipends, housing and travel, including travel to a conference of the American Astronomical Society (AAS, held in the winter in different US locations).
