Role of scavenger receptors in modulation of toll-like receptors activation in viral skin infections

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The ability of SRs to recognize a wide variety of pathogens suggests additional roles in host defense and relationships with toll-like receptors (TLRs), which instruct innate immunity. Because virtually nothing is understood about SRs in human skin and their functions in innate immune responses, this proposal aim to evaluate SR expression and their physical and biological interactions with TLRs in 2D and 3D cutaneous models.
