Projection Imaging of Peripheral Vascular Calcifications

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The primary goals of this project this project are to develop an optimal MR imaging strategy for vascular calcifications and then perform a pilot study to validate the imaging strategy. We will additionally characterize vascular calcifications and non-calcified plaque by measuring their relaxation and magnetic properties. Dr. Carr will be the local principal investigator at Northwestern University. We will apply the optimal MRI protocol identified in Aim 2 to 26 patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital who have been imaged with CTA. CTA will serve as the reference standard.
