Description

The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) and Northwestern University are collaborating to develop and demonstrate a novel ultramicroelectrode array technology based on amorphous silicon carbide (a-SiC). Northwestern University, which brings significant expertise in neuroscience and bioengineering, will work with chronically implanted monkeys for the study of sensorimotor integration with novel a-SiC neural interfaces. Northwestern University will be involved in the development and testing of the final design of the short a-SiC arrays and longer a-SiC arrays, in particular. Northwestern University will perform particular experiments using these novel arrays, perform data analysis, and share results of these experiments with UT Dallas for both annual progress reports and submission of jointly authored journal publications
