Description
This proposal describes the development of fabrication methods for making nanoparticle (NP) lattices together with theory/experiment studies of the optical properties of these lattices under circumstances where plasmonic surface lattice resonances (SLRs) are important, and including the coupling of emitters to SLRs. Important scientific outcomes that may result from this work include: (1) the demonstration of long-range (hundreds of microns) phase coherence outside plasmonic lattices when BICs are excited, (2) engineering of nondispersive flat bands in stacked NP lattices, and (3) a new theory of plasmon excitation in tunnel junction structures, along with experimental demonstration of the effect.
