Strategy Evaluation for Mainstream Shortcut Biological Nitrogen Removal at the Lab Scale

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Bench scale Reactors will be designed, built, and operated to evaluate two mainstream shortcut nitrogen biological nitrogen removal strategies for possible application at MWRDGC facilitiess. The two strategies considered will be: 1) Nitritation-Denitritation Through Modulating Aeration (NiDeMA) with biological P removal coupled to Integrated Fixed Film Activated Sludge (IFAS) Anammox Polishing (NiDeMA-P+Anammox IFAS); and 2) Two Sludge A/B Process for High-Rate Activated Sludge and biological P removal and Deammonification (HRAS-P + Deammonification).
