Support a follow-up study of Adolescent alum of CAP Tulsa CareerAdvance program

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The current proposal explores whether gains observed from participation in CareerAdvance, a model two-generation program, when children were young translate to longer-term benefits when these children enter adolescence (aged 13-15 years). By elevating the voices and perspectives of adolescents and families, we will better understand the multigenerational dynamics that influence educational and career aspirations and achievement across generations. If our study shows positive benefits of CareerAdvance to adolescents and parents, there is strong potential for federal investment in the scale-up and testing of two-generation education programs as a prospective core strategy to reduce the income-based opportunity gap across the life span.
