Project Details
Description
Graduate student Erik Viklund will provide contribute to activities at Fermilab related to research and development of superconducting radiofrequency (SRF) cavities. This will include the following as needed:
a. Microscopy analysis of samples of SRF materials, including sample preparation and operation of materials analysis tools.
b. Analysis of material removal techniques such as electropolishing and its effects on SRF materials
c. Characterization of SRF systems to include superconducting radio frequency cavities, superconducting transmons, and other systems as required.
d. Analysis of relevant SRF and superconducting materials experiments and simulations.
e. Preparation of presentations and manuscripts.
