Project Details
Description
Mr. Sklenar’s responsibility is to perform research at Argonne National Laboratory jointly with scientists of the Materials Science Division (MSD). His research will be part the Magnetic Films Group research on spin currents and spin dynamics and will directly benefit the Magnetic Thin Films FWP at Argonne sponsored by DOE. He will be working on fabricating and characterizing new device structures with the goal to pursue new excitation and manipulation pathways for Bose-Einstein condensed magnons. This work will include advanced lithography (including electron-beam lithography), thin film deposition, microwave measurements, and advanced characterization with Brillouin Light Scattering microscopy. Therefore he will acquire additional technical skills, which will be beneficial for his further career development. Similar the diverse work environment at Argonne National Laboratory provides a unique training opportunity for a junior scientist and will provide Mr. Sklenar with additional networking capabilities, which are critical at this juncture of his career.
