Project Details
Description
For the period 3/1/2013-9/30/2013, Junjing Deng will be working on the development and application of multiple length scale x-ray microscopy methods. This will include the measurement of distortions in imaging fields via cross-correlation methods, and the development of polynomial-based distortion correction algorithms for application to x-ray imaging. He will also collect multi-length-scale x-ray images to be used by the Mathematics and Computer Science postdoc for algorithm development tests. This will require Mr. Deng to participate in experiments at the APS, and interact with the Tao of Fusion project team. His work will therefore involve data analysis and software development at Northwestern University, participation in occasional meetings at Argonne, and work at Argonne both in sample preparation and in operation of the x-ray microscopes involved in this work.
