Project Details
Description
Mauricio Angelone will work in a project being supported by the core FWP of the Synchrotron Studies of Materials (SSM) group in the Materials Science Division at Argonne. The project aims to gain insights into structure-function relationships of energy and quantum nanoscale materials via experimental Bragg coherent x-ray diffraction measurements at synchrotron light sources. In particular, developing methodology to implement coherent diffraction at high x-ray energies and deploying these method to materials need exploration within the SSM group. These areas will be the focus of Mauricio Angelone’s work in the group. His work in this area will have a significant impact in the scope of materials-centered coherent x-ray diffraction imaging experiments that the SSM group will be able to perform.
Mauricio Angelone is a first year Ph.D. student who has been working closely with Stephan Hruszkewycz (leader of the SSM group) and with Katherine Harmon, a named fellow in the SSM group.
This contract will support travel costs for two overseas for the coming year to visit the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in France in support of this project.
