ANL supervisor: Dr. John Byrd, Director, Accelerator Science Division, Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Lab
Northwestern University PhD student Emmanuel Aneke is to carry out work on accelerator physics research and development at Argonne National Laboratory, serving research and development needs in accelerator physics and preparations for commissioning the upgraded accelerator for the Advanced Photon Source. This work will be done in-person at Argonne 2-4 days per week, with remote work on the other days. The deliverables for the above period include the following:
• Biweekly in-person meetings with the Argonne research supervisor (working on behalf of John Byrd), and Northwestern co-advisor Chris Jacobsen. These meetings will take place at Argonne Lab.
• Gaining familiarity with the APS accelerator systems and staff, and future research and development projects.
This initial contract period is for the summer of 2023, and for the first month of the Fall 2023 quarter when tuition is charged. It is intended to continue this contract as of October 1, 2023 in the following Federal fiscal year.
