Description

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) is one of the most common gynecologic disorders affecting women of reproductive age. it is estimated that AUB accounts for up to one third of gynecologic office visits and is the leading cause of hysterectomy in the U.S. The purpose of the study is to assess the prevalence of AUB in a local community in south Chicago at a neighborhood health fair hosted by Apostolic Church. The study will assess health literacy and knowledge of AUB in premenupausal African American women. This study will seek to obtain blood samples from participants to determine the presence of low iron levels and anemia in women who report suffering from AUB and symptoms of Anemia.
