Project Details
Description
This proposed subcontract to Northwestern University Fienberg School of Medicine (NUFSM) would support lesion-deficit research in brain-damaged individuals and functional magnetic resonance (fMRI) studies in healthy individuals over the final two years (yrs 4 & 5) of the project in order to advance the originally proposed specific aims of the parent R01. This research will be conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Joel Voss in tight collaboration with Dr. Cohen. Dr. Voss was co-investigator on the parent R01 at the University of Illinois until moving to NUFSM to establish a laboratory in 2012. This proposed subcontract to NUFSM would accomplish the following research aims of the parent R01 during the next two project years (06/01/2014-05/31/2016):
1) Lesion-deficit experiments in brain-damaged control subjects as necessary to complete originally proposed Experiments 5 and 6.
2) Lesion-deficit experiments in an expanded sample of individuals with damage to the hippocampus to complete originally proposed Experiment 6.
3) fMRI experiments in healthy individuals to complete originally proposed Experiments 7-9.
Rationale for the NUFSM subcontract:
