III. Background: Measures of social health will play a key role in applications that use ecologic (or determinants of health) models that emphasize how patients’ environments influence their health. It is essential to identify social health measures that can be used across diverse populations.
IV. Main Manuscript Question(s): Does the PROMIS 10-item Social Function-Ability Short Form exhibit measurement invariance vis-à-vis diverse populations (e.g., race/ethnicity, age, cancer, language)?
V. Analytic plan (brief): The R package “lordif” will be used to identify DIF-by-population (e.g., by race/ethnicity, age, cancer, language) items via a pseudo-R2 change criterion of 0.01. Unpurified vs. DIF-purified theta scores will then be analyzed to determine DIF impact on scores.
