Dr. Gordon will advise on qualitative methods associated with the second phase of the study. This includes the development of guidelines for observing listing meetings, advising on qualitative analysis, assisting with codebook development and finalizing themes, manuscript preparation, and advising on clinical and policy implications of survey and qualitative study findings. Dr. Gordon will lead the analysis of the free-text responses, and will also advise on the stakeholder interviews to inform the normative analysis. She will also participate in a policy analysis of the formal protocols provided by transplant centers. As Vice-Chair of the UNOS Ethics Committee, Dr. Gordon will lend her expertise in transplant ethics to also devise and implement strategies to increase the impact of the findings. She will participate in two phone meetings per month. Dr. Gordon will commit 8% effort to the project in the first year.
