Third Generation Simulation (TGSim) Data: A Closer Look at the Impacts of Automated Driving Systems on Human Behavior

Project: Research project

Project Details

The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) / Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is issuing this Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) to procure datasets that document how Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving Systems (ADS)—with or without connectivity—operate in traffic. FHWA will use the data procured as part of this project to develop such models (e.g., carfollowing, lane changing, and intersection navigation models for both the ADAS/ADS and the vehicles surrounding the subject ADAS/ADS). Thus, there are certain data variables for the instrumented ADAS/ADS and the adjacent vehicles (manually driven, ADAS, and ADS), that must be either directly measured or accurately estimated from directly measured data variables.
