Transdiagnostic brain-behavior profiling to enhance cognitive behavioral therapy response

Project: Research project

Project Details

Dr. Shankman will serve as a co-investigator on Dr. Klumpp’s R01 entitled “Transdiagnostic Brain-Behavior Profiling to Enhance Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Response,” a novel project investigating predictors and mechanisms of cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals with major depressive disorder and social anxiety disorder. Specifically, he will provide expertise in the analysis and write-up of the EEG and startle measures of positive and negative valenced constructs (e.g., the Reward Positivity ERP component) – central measures of the project. Dr. Shankman is a long-time collaborator of Dr. Klumpp, having served as one of the mentors of her K23 and publishing with her extensively when he was at UIC. His work and expertise is complimentary but synergistic with the rest of the investigative team.
