Understanding and Improving Therapies for the Muscular Dystrophies

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Northwestern Investigators will conduct experiments to examine the effect of intermittent low dose steroids on preclinical models of muscular dystrophy, including characterizing the effect on muscle, muscle inflammatory cells and infiltrate, and the effect on cardiac and pulmonary metabolic reprogramming and function. Metabolic reprogramming of muscle will also be studied collaboratively with investigators in Project 3 through imaging as well as with investigators at UCLA to examine novel compounds for their effect on muscular dystrophy.
