Major Task 1: Prepare Regulatory Documents Subtask 1: Prepare local human subjects research documents Coordinate Military 2nd level IRB review (ORP/HRPO) Submit amendments, adverse events and protocol deviations as needed Coordinate for annual IRB report for continuing review Milestone Achieved: IRB approval at Johns Hopkins and NU, and HRPO Major Task 2: Coordinate and Train Study Staff in Qualitative Research Subtask1: Hiring and Training of Study Staff Advertise and interview for project related staff Qualitative research training for study staff Milestone Achieved: Research staff hired and trained in qualitative research Specific Aim 1: To assess the availability and quality of information about VCA donation delivered through state and federally sponsored online registries, DoD/VA entities, and public awareness materials. Major Task 3: Content Analysis of Available VCA Donation Education Subtask 1: Develop rules for coding educational content text and images Subtask 2: Perform a comprehensive search of all VCA education materials currently provided by organ procurement organizations (n =58), national advocacy organizations, and each state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (n =50) Subtask 3: Code the content (text and images) Milestone Achieved: content analysis of existing educational materials complete Milestone Achieved: report findings from content analysis Major Task 4: Focus Groups with Members of the Public Subtask 1: Recruit and consent, 60 members of the public for 6 focus groups Subtask 2: Conduct 3 focus groups in Baltimore/Chicago (total n =6) Milestone Achieved: 1st focus group participants consented and scheduled Milestone Achieved: 3 focus groups conducted at each site Major Task 5: Analyze Qualitative Data Subtask 1: Transcribe audio recordings from the focus groups Subtask 2: Qualitatively analyze focus groups transcriptions Milestone Achieved: Report findings from focus groups Specific Aim 2: To develop e
