UroEDIC Bladder: Bladder Dysfunction in Type 1 Diabetes

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications Study (EDIC) is
conducting a multi-site investigation to evaluate bladder dysfunction in diabetes.
The EDIC Clinical Coordinating Center at Case Western Reserve University will
facilitate the processing of invoices from the 27 EDIC centers for this UroEDIC
Bladder ancillary study. The PI and Coordinator at each EDIC clinical site will
assist in the central IRB regulatory approval of the protocol and will be responsible
for implementation of the protocol, which includes recruiting and consenting EDIC
study participants, administering the surveys, and collecting clinical data and
specifically residual urine volumes by ultrasound. The budget includes additional
effort to support the time required by the EDIC Coordinator and all necessary
supplies to perform this protocol.
