Description
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed major flaws in our ability to scale diagnostic testing, leading to enormous negative public health and economic impacts. By identifying where the virus is present and where it is absent, we can make informed decisions about implementing or relieving restrictions that otherwise shut down entire buildings and sites. This is especially important when current “stay at home” restrictions expire and employers, employees, and students return to work and to campus. Without the proper tools to obtain environmental safety information employers are forced make uninformed business and health decisions, putting their employees and students at risk.
Commercial office buildings and universities, where workers and students are in close proximity over an extended period of time—and pose a higher risk to spreading SARS-CoV-2—are our initial target market. Through initial customer discovery efforts, we specifically identified property managers, facility directors, and environmental health and safety employees, in this market as the end customers for our innovation. These customers are ultimately responsible for the environmental health and well-being of the building or site in question and are the primary decision makers in purchasing laboratory and environmental tests and testing services.
Our team is developing a unique environmental testing kit to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. This kit will empower employers with rapid information about the work environment by providing a rapid, onsite, and cost-effective way to test buildings and sites for SARS-CoV-2.
