VGER, the Vanderbilt Genome-Electronic Records Project

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This project involves a collaboration between Duke University, the developers of the MeTree Family Health History tool, and three eMERGE sites to develop infrastructure, policies and processes to integrate the patient facing family health history (FHH) tool into the EPIC EHR, MyChart, and clinical workflows. The MeTree FHH tool integrates clinical and family history information from the medical record, patient provided information, together with several risk assessment tools to deliver genetic risk assessment information at the point of care. This one-year project will assess the requirements and feasibility of a randomized controlled trial of the MeTree FHH tool at Northwestern Medicine.
