10-GHz regeneratively mode-locked fiber optical parametric oscillator with timing jitter suppression

Abstract

We demonstrate a fiber-optical parametric oscillator (FOPO) for generating 10GHz-rate nearly-transform-limited soliton pulses. By regeneratively mode-locking the FOPO with its ultra-low-jitter pump source, a three-fold reduction (from 0.71ps to 0.23ps) of the signal's timing jitter is observed.
