Abstract

An efficient 2-D time-domain BEM has been developed to analyze the scattering of elastic waves in anisotropic solids. Integral expressions for the Green's functions given by Wang and Achenbach are used. The simple structure of these expressions allows the analytical evaluation of the integrals over each element and over each time-step. Moreover, certain singular multiple integrals are reduced to regular line integrals over a unit circle. The method is demonstrated by numerical examples for scattering of a plane transient wave by a cylindrical cavity.
