A Brillouin gain based fast light fiber laser sensor

Abstract

We present a novel Brillouin fiber laser based "fast-light" super-sensor. Sensitivity enhancement of more than two orders of magnitude compared to conventional laser sensors can be attained by proper design of the laser parameters.
