A fiber-based source of degenerate polarization-entangled photons in the telecom band

Abstract

We present a high quality degenerate source of polarization-entangled photons (0.96 ± 0.01 fidelity with a maximally entangled state). Reverse Hong-Ou-Mandel interference in an opticalfiber Sagnac loop deterministically separates the indistinguishable photons.
