Abstract

The first, single-step, hydrothermal synthetic process has been developed, whereby phase-pure polycrystal-line samples of CuAlO2 can be synthesized at low temperature (<215°C) and pressure (<10 atm). Furthermore, the solid solution CuAl1-yGayO2 (where 0 ≤ y ≤ 1), which has, to date, not been reported, was also synthesized.
