Abstract

The solution to the problem of a penny-shaped crack under conditions of shear loading is solved when the displacements are prescribed on the face of the crack. The special case of uni-directional shear is discussed. A Griffith's criterion for combined stresses is considered similar to that of Mossakovskii and Rybka.
