Abstract

We studied the basic shapes of surface MUAP's of the FDI muscle using a wavelet matching technique. By averaging surface EMG's triggered by the intramuscular EMG, we found the surface MUAP's matched very well with the selected wavelets. It provides us a potential way to quantify the surface EMG by estimating the number of the action potentials contained within it.
