Abstract
The problem of noise in urban areas is amenable to solution by the control of locational activities or by technological solutions located at the source of noise, at the receiver, or between the source and receiver. Some basic concepts of systems analysis may be used to determine informational requirements to make planning with respect to noise more realistic and more effective.
