Abstract

An adaptive iterative Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) for channels with inter symbol interference (ISI) was presented. The performance of reduced-rank adaptive algorithms for estimating the DFE filters was studied. The reduced-rank adaptive turbo DFE was found to offer significant performance gain relative to the full-rank DFE. The gain was found to increase with the size of the filters.
