Abstract

The adsorption of ethane from a dilute mixture with helium was studied by using an isothermal packed bed system and type 4A and 5A molecular sieve particles. Intraparticle diffusion was shown to be the rate determining process, with micropore diffusion controlling the observed rate for 4A pellets, and a combined macropore- micropore process controlling the case of 5A pellets.
