All-fiber photon-pair source for quantum communications

Abstract

We present a fiber-optic source of quantum-correlated photon pairs that is well suited for use in 1550nm quantum communication and cryptography networks. Nonclassical properties are demonstrated using Geiger-mode InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiodes.
