N2 - The principal objective of this work is thus to assess the practical applicability of the diagonalization algorithm for the evaluation of truck-related improvements. This involves two principal tasks: the development of a mechanism for representing the improvements of interest and testing the performance of the diagonalization algorithm for this type of application. Two questions are of concern in this regard: convergence of the algorithm, which, as noted earlier, is not guaranteed, and streamlining or shortcut strategies in the implementation of the algorithm in order to reduce its otherwise heavy computational cost.
