Abstract

A study was conducted to determine the magnetic domain wall structures in an Fe (110) monolayer. Highly precise first principles full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave method was used for the purpose of analysis. It was found that the narrow domain wall arises from band effects. Results show that the magnetization changes from one orientation to the opposite orientation within an 8 Å width.
