Abstract

In this chapter we review the basics, or the ‘building blocks’, of AI in clinical medicine. Since a significant proportion of the current applications of AI in medicine utilize imaging data, we describe the basics of AI using examples from radiology applications. We also briefly discuss new opportunities and key challenges of AI from a clinical standpoint.
