Abstract

The child with CHD brings many unique challenges to the anesthesiologist. Once restricted primarily to the largest medical centers, patients with uncorrected, palliated, and corrected heart disease are increasingly receiving care at less tertiary centers. Therefore, all anesthesiologists need to be aware of the specific concerns and techniques that are useful in the care of these patients.
