Abstract
Community of creation, a governance mechanism for distributed innovation management is discussed to strike a balance between order and chaos in technology market. The community is governed by a central firm that acts as sponsor and defines the ground rules for partipication. The community of creation model relies on extended participation and distributed production to manage the innovation in firms. The process of knowledge socialization and collective learning requires building and sharing the existing knowledge to develop the new ones. Rewarding individual inventors within the community to bring new ideas into existance is essential to encourage more production thereby leading to proper management of innovation.
