Abstract

New complexes of the type IrCl(CO)(η2-SCY)(L)2 (Y = O, L = PMe2Ph, PMe3; Y = S, L = PMe3) have been prepared. Formation constants and values of ΔH and ΔS have been measured. The stability of a given complex toward dissociation of SCY is greater when L is a small, basic phosphine ligand, and the stability has also been correlated with the electron affinity of SCY.
