Abstract

Many of the technical and non-technical or human problems associated with blasting can be minimized through a proper preconstruction test-blast program. This paper presents the results of five such test programs as well as specific guidance for: design of the test blasts; positioning and installation of instruments; techniques for statistical analysis; and resulting attenuation relations.
