Concerns about the use of portable cholesterol analyzers.

While there is growing interest and concern about the role of portable cholesterol analyzers in clinical practice, the evidence on the effectiveness of these devices is limited. It has been shown that a number of factors can affect the validity of the cholesterol readings. We present a cautionary view on use of these devices.
