Stress/strain data have been obtained for the composite fibres. The modulus of the fibres is only slightly affected at low doped-phthalocyanine content but falls by about one third at a higher content. Breaking elongation decreases and the fibres become increasingly fragile as the mole fraction of the phthalocyanine increases.
