Abstract
Because of an inadvertent error in data processing, experimental data in Figure 3 were shown incorrectly. We update Figure 3 with a new data set with this error corrected. The new data set was measured by referencing the phase of the optical response from each NaCl concentration to that of air-equilibrated water (which was independently referenced to 100 mM NaCl) so as to further reduce the previously mentioned hysteresis effects. The new best fit to the Gouy-Chapman surface charge density is -0.016(14) C/m2, which is comparable to the previously cited literature data on the fused silica/water interface. The conclusions of the Letter remain unchanged. (Figure Presrnted).
