Abstract
In going from the enterprise view of the data and the user's requirements to a given physical data base design two important tools are available for estimating the behavior of the system: simulation and analytical models. The possible areas of coupling between these tools are discussed from a number of viewpoints and in particular an example relating to lower-level implementation details is examined.
