Funding

To reduce barriers, participants were provided educational materials (e.g., psychiatric textbooks) and funds for travel/living expenses through departmental and grant support by the APA’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Minority Fellowship. In 2021, students participated virtually, providing outpatient telehealth services due to the restrictions on visiting students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students were provided with up to $1000 of educational materials. In 2022, the program was in-person, and students were provided with $1000 of learning materials and a $2000 stipend.
