Abstract

The Learning Partnership has developed two assessment suites that demonstrate the capability of using Virtual Lab to assess students’ inquiry abilities in two topical areas. The first area is meteoritics, which deals with the study of meteorites. The second area is systematics, which deals with classifying organisms according to their evolutionary relationships with other organisms. Each suite contains a standards-based assessment of basic concepts, a performance assessment task, and a skills assessment.
