Abstract

The strategy for reactive compatibilization using polymers synthesized through controlled radical polymerization (CRP) was discussed. Diffusion-controlled interpolymer reactions were useful in reactive processing and compatibilization of immiscible blends in which interpolymer reactions yielded block or graft copolymers. Results showed that polymers made through nitroxide-mediated (NM)-CRP could undergo efficient interpolymer radical-radical coupling at conditions amenable to model studies and reactive compatibilization.
