Abstract

A fully non-linear Boussinesq model to study forced oscillations in basins with varying bathymetry and vertical sidewalls is developed using FUNWAVE (Wei et al.16). New lateral boundary conditions allowing for non-constant depth profiles are derived and implemented. Five tests cases representing different forcing conditions and basin geometry are presented. The numerical results predict previously observed patterns of standing waves, Faraday waves, traveling waves and bores. The occurrence of different wave forms is dependent on the forcing parameters and basin geometry.
